Join Ally Hamilton and Jennifer Pastiloff for a month-long online course that is all about what it means to be a woman at this moment in time. In what ways are we taught that we should be small and unthreatening? To what degree is shame preventing us from developing genuinely intimate relationships? As women, how do we support each other and root each other on, when culturally we are taught to compete with one another? What do you do with your rage? How do you feel about your body? Are you feeling fulfilled creatively? These are just some of the issues we’ll be talking about.
Each week, Jen and Ally will open with a topic, and dig into it. When you sign up, you become part of the private On Being Women Facebook group, where there will be live talks (you can tune in later, they will live on the page). There will be meditations and journaling questions around each topic, along with group discussion on the page. We will suggest yoga classes that go with our weekly theme, and you’ll have a month’s access to YogisAnonymous.com for $1.
A sampling of the questions we’ll be addressing:
Are you at peace or are you at war? Are you in acceptance of yourself, or are you rejecting certain essential qualities, ideas or feelings that make you, you? Are you integrating the places where you feel raw, ashamed or embarrassed, or denying them?
What does it mean to be a woman in today’s world?
We’ll bust open a conversation about sexism and misogyny, why we recoil from ambitious women, the importance of sisterhood, and treasuring your female tribe.
Navigating Roles and Relationships:
How do you take care of yourself and all the people in your life without losing yourself or your mind? What is sexy? What is your relationship with your body, with food, with sex?
Ally will do a live talk about co-parenting after divorce, what a healthy divorce looks like from a kid’s perspective, dating post-divorce, blending families and how to navigate all of it for those of you in that situation.
Jen will do live talks as well on topics such as: letting go of trying to be perfect and embracing being human, building community, depression/anxiety, no bullshit motherhood and more.
